This Saturday, Ember is leaving the screen and heading to the pub.
On Saturday 15 August, we are celebrating the London launch of Ember by PubCrush at The Beehive Clapham, and you are invited.
Entry is completely free, and walk-ins are welcome.
If you have been curious about Ember, this is the night to try it properly. Come with friends, come on your own, or simply turn up and see who is there. The whole idea is simple: spend less time swiping through people somewhere else and make it easier to meet the people who are actually in the same place as you tonight.

What is the Ember London launch party?
The Ember London launch party is our first proper opportunity to bring the community together and show what Ember feels like when a pub is full of people who are open to meeting someone new.
We are taking over The Beehive Clapham at 197 St John's Hill, London SW11 1TH, close to Clapham Junction.
There is no complicated format and no need to spend the evening following a schedule. It is a social night in a proper London pub, with Ember adding a small digital introduction layer to what is already happening in the room.
You arrive. You open Ember. You see other people who are there tonight.
And if someone catches your attention, you can send them a private wave.
Dating apps normally start somewhere else
Most dating apps begin with a profile.
Ember begins with a place.
That distinction is at the heart of what we have been building.
Instead of showing you an endless catalogue of people scattered across London, Ember is designed around the people sharing a real venue with you at that moment.
You might have already noticed someone across the room. You might have walked past each other on the way in. You might simply want to know who else came out tonight hoping to meet somebody.
Ember gives you a quiet way to make that first move without replacing the actual conversation.
A wave is private. If the interest is mutual, you match. A mutual match can also unlock a match reward at the bar.

We deliberately built Ember around nights rather than permanent profiles.
Your activity is tied to the venue and the night you are actually having. Waves are private, and the night clears within 24 hours.
There is no growing inbox of conversations from three weeks ago. There is no pressure to maintain another online identity indefinitely.

We wanted the Ember London launch party to happen somewhere that feels like a pub, not an event space pretending to be one.
The Beehive Clapham sits on St John's Hill, a short walk from Clapham Junction. It is a proper neighbourhood pub and a natural home for our first London launch night.

Come alone if you want to
One of the things we care about most with Ember is making going out feel easier when you do not already have a group assembled.
London is full of people, but that does not automatically make meeting people simple.
Sometimes you want to go somewhere on Saturday night but your friends are busy. Sometimes you are new to the city. Sometimes you just want to meet people outside your existing circle.
You should not need five friends and a group chat negotiation before you can have a social night.
The launch party is built around meeting people, so arriving without a big group is completely normal.
If you are coming alone, Ember can give you a sense of who else in the venue is open to connecting before you have even worked out how to start the conversation.

Ember is not only for solo nights.

We have spent a lot of time thinking about how technology can help people meet without becoming another reason to avoid talking to each other.
On Saturday, we finally get to put that idea into a room full of people.
