Terms of service
Last updated: 8 July 2026
What ember is
ember lets guests at a participating venue see who else is in the room tonight, wave, and meet in person. Rooms exist for one night only. By creating an account or joining a room you agree to these terms.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. Venues hosting ember nights are licensed premises; their age policies apply at the door and inside.
House rules
Use your own recent photo and your real first name. One account per person. Be decent: harassment, hate speech, or contacting people who have blocked you will get your account removed without notice.
The report button also blocks: reported pairs stop seeing each other for the night. We review reports and may suspend accounts.
Drinks and codes
Drink codes issued on a match are single-use, non-transferable and valid only at the issuing venue on the issuing night. The venue is responsible for serving alcohol lawfully and may refuse service.
Safety
ember introduces people; it cannot vouch for them. Meet in the open, in the venue. Trust your instincts and involve venue staff if anything feels wrong.
Liability
The service is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, ember is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
